One of my favorite parts of fall training is testing young dogs in lead to see who has matured into a potential leader over the summer. Just for fun, Eider had his turn up front and ROCKED it. Thanks to Ham for being a great assistant trainer!
Mary brought some tasty treats for the dogs, and as you can see, they loved it! After passing out a treat to everyone, the yard was completely silent except for the crunch of bones. Thanks Mary!

I hope your day was filled with joy, laughter, and puppies on your face.
Warning- after watching this video, you will accomplish nothing productive and only think of puppies for the rest of the day.
Also... the puppies got to play after the making of this video.
Meet "Earl" Grey. This is one of my favorite shots from Scott Chesney's photoshoot this weekend. Earl will be a yearling this season and is known for his goofy and fun-loving personality. He's not the smartest, but his friendly, carefree nature makes him a quick favorite. Earl is sponsored by Mickey and Doug Zirkle.
While not dog related, I have to share the amazingness of Alaska. Backpacking in the Valley of 10,000 Smokes was one of my all-time best adventures. It was like visiting Mars in Alaska. No life (except for the occasional lost caribou), floating volcanic rocks, active volcanoes, steam vents, glisading down ice fields, glaciers, bears (in Katmai)- What a world we live in.
Today the Card Games are two weeks old, and their eyes are beginning to open. Yuker is the last pup without his eyes open, but I credit that to all possible energy going to his stomach. Or perhaps the fat rolls in his face overpower his eyelid strength. Brother Blitz and sister Fish both appear very similar; however Fish has a darker mask around her eyes and a black tipped tail, whereas Blitz lacks the dark lines under his eyes and has a white tipped tail. Uno is experiencing her "terrible-two" (weeks not years) and cries often at almost any change in her environment. Overall, the four Card Games are happy, healthy, and BIG!
The puppies are all growing into strong, fat little chunkers. Meet Yuker (black male), Uno (blonde female), Fish (red/brown female), and Blitz (red/brown male).
